Merch Design

Planet Scum Merch

I designed merch for Planet Scum's  Comedian Tees store from November 2020 (when the store launched) to May 2022 (when the network shut down.)

A number of the shirts I've designed have been the top selling shirt on Comedian Tees. Here are some of them!

Top-Selling Merch on Comedian Tees

"Georgie Porgie" Shirt

Declare yourself an official "Georgie Porgie" with this shirt. The design was inspired by the Official Star Wars Fan Club's ringer shirt from 1982, but with "George Lucas" (Connor Ratliff) in the place of the original's bantha.

You can buy it at The George Lucas Talk Show's official merch store: https://glts.threadless.com/designs/official-georgie-porgie

"Wat" Tee

Wat is what you get when you mix Gizmo and Watto.  It was Comedian Tees' top selling shirt after it launched!

It's no longer available now that the Planet Scum store has shut down.

"Super Weird Bowl II" Tee

On Super Bowl Saturday, Riley Soloner made weird food concoctions on the Googy Morning episode "Super Weird Bowl II" where Hoagies and Sundaes faced off. I was asked to make a commemorative shirt so I channeled my love of 90s wrestling tees.

It's no longer available now that the Planet Scum store has shut down.

"Da" Tee and Hat

On the January 2022 episode of GLTS, Jersey Dave introduced us to our new friend Da. Naturally, he had to be on a shirt. However, he also got added to an embroidered hat! This is my first piece of art that's been translated into an embroidery so that's super cool!

You can buy it at The George Lucas Talk Show's official merch store: https://glts.threadless.com/designs/da

"Sandwich Night 2021" Tee

After the 11th Sandwich Night, the 2021 Sandwich Night sticker became the top-selling item on Comedian Tees. The black and gray editions of the Sandwich Night 2021 shirt were also on the top seller list.

It's no longer available now that the Planet Scum store has shut down.

"Watto Cup" Tee

Despite a stealth launch, this Watto shirt was already the 4th highest selling shirt within a week of posting (November 20, 2021.) Once Planet Scum promoted it, the shirt rose to second on the top-sellers list (November 25, 2021.)

It's a blend of a moment from The George Lucas Talk Show and René Magritte's "The Treachery of Images."

"Baphemoth" Tee

The "Baphemoth" tee was the highest selling shirt on comediantees.com as of November 4, 2021. It was inspired by a typo from Planet Scum Live viewer PolythenePamster.

I've wanted to make a heavy metal-inspired shirt for awhile now and as soon as Baphemoth was introduced, I knew it was the perfect fit.

It's no longer available now that the Planet Scum store has shut down.

"Shapes" Tee

The "Shapes" tee was the highest selling shirt on comediantees.com as of September 30, 2021. It launched during The George Lucas Talk Show's joke week.

It was really fun getting to work in more of a 90s abstract polygonal style compared to the more cartooning and illustration based styles I usually work in.

A map of manhattan on a t-shirt

"Pretend" Tee

As of August 2021, the "Pretend" tee is Planet Scum's highest selling T-shirt.

The base layer and individual building were drawn in Procreate on separate canvases. The text was added and the images were assembled together in Photoshop.

This design created such a splash that subpar bootlegs are available, but you should buy yours in the official GLTS store.

Crawly's quote "We All Love Something That Kills Us" on a T-shirt.

"Crawly" Tee

Inspired by The George Lucas Talk Show's "Oops, All Crawly" episode where the Planet Scum community got to know the opening crawl we've taken for granted at the beginning of Star Wars films for over 40 years.

This design was created in Photoshop and made such a splash that it has been bootlegged across the Internet.

A decaying Ronald Reagan puppet on a T-shirt

"Rottin' Ronnie" Tee

Inspired by Connor Ratliff's decaying Spitting Image puppet, Rottin Ronnie is a beautifully gross shirt that topped Comedian Tees' top-selling list.

Originally, I did a sketch of Rottin' Ronnie on my own to celebrate The George Lucas Talk Show and the GLTS guys loved it asked me to make one for a shirt. (Their notes were super valuable in refining it.)

Grogizmo on a t-shirt

"Grogizmo" Tee

Inspired by GoldieThrawn's Photoshopped Fan Art, this piece of The George Lucas Talk Show merch debuted at number one with a bullet on Comedian Tees' top-sellers list.

Chris Gethard's head pokes out of a box on a t-shirt

"Gethbox" Tee

When I designed this shirt, Planet Scum LIVE was in the early days of its "What's in the Box" era so I designed a trippy shirt with Geth's head popping out of the box.

This is one of my favorite designs from the initial wave and I wear it all the time because I'm a huge fan of the 3D effect.

It's no longer available now that the Planet Scum store has shut down.
